Pediatric Physical Therapist

Bluebonnet Pediatric Therapy is seeking a skilled Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our team. As a Pediatric Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive physical therapy services to children with a wide range of developmental, neuromuscular, and musculoskeletal conditions. Your primary focus will be on promoting mobility, improving motor function, enhancing strength and coordination, and maximizing independence in daily activities for pediatric patients.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments to identify the unique needs and abilities of pediatric patients.

2. Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's specific goals, challenges, and developmental stage.

3. Implement evidence-based physical therapy interventions, techniques, and modalities to address motor delays, disabilities, and impairments.

4. Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, balance training, and adaptive equipment recommendations as needed.

5. Collaborate closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, and caregivers, to ensure coordinated care and optimal outcomes.

6. Educate and empower parents/caregivers on therapeutic techniques, home exercises, and strategies to support their child's progress and functional abilities outside of therapy sessions.

7. Monitor and document patient progress, adjustments to treatment plans, and any changes in status or goals.

8. Stay current with advances in pediatric physical therapy research, best practices, and industry trends through continuing education and professional development activities.

9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

10. Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice, including compliance with HIPAA regulations and state licensure requirements.

Required Work Experience, Skills, and Education:

- Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.

- Prior experience working in pediatric physical therapy settings preferred.

- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of pediatric growth and development.

- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, caregivers, and colleagues.

- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of pediatric patients and their families.

- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
